The day and age of investment schemes is growing a wider net than ever before. In the United States we have heard so much about the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme. In Europe we have heard quite a bit of news regards the missing bond fund money. Now a new Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme has sprung up in the UK. Investors are always looking for a way to get better than average market returns and sometimes they will go to great lengths to get them. Good salesmen will sell a shady investment as one that will provide great returns and have investors in a trance and not even thinking about the investment risks associated. So many people have lost money that it is surprising that more people are not being cautious. Make sure you have a good sense of a company’s reputation before you invest any money with them. Talk to other investors who have been with them for a long while and be sure to ask for all appropriate documentation.
